HEALTHY WITHOUT DIET AND FITNESS?

A conversation about our idea of a 'healthy' person.

A question that comes to many people's minds at some point in their lives is whether they have to make big decisions in terms of diet and fitness in order to stay fit and healthy.

The quickest answer would be yes, it is possible. But first we have to understand what our definition of 'healthy' is. Is it deciding between a salad or a big Mac? Or is it getting up early to do yoga? Or is it just simply the need to feel fresh and active in your own body.

Health can relate to our physical and mental conditions or how we maintain them. A person that goes out for jogging will not always be healthier than someone who doesn't jog at all. The comparison of two different individuals keeping themselves fit is irrelevant because one person's fitness goals may be another persons daily routine. An individual that commutes to their workplace everyday on foot may not really need to take out the time to jog later. This helps broaden our perspective about staying fit and healthy.

Apart from just physical health, mental health is something that is usually disregarded when trying to improve physical conditions. Until unless a persons mental health is improved there really is no point in trying to upgrade our lifestyles. This also shows us how 'healthy' does not only apply to how we keep our bodies but how we keep our mental state as well. A person could have a healthy lifestyle, jogging in the day, having a well balanced meal later and a stabilized routine but if he/she is not mentally fit, takes all kinds of stress they can not call themselves 'healthy' or 'fit' whatsoever.

Trying to keep ourselves fit and healthy is not a goal but rather a process that we go through to keep ourselves well maintained and focused enough to carry out whatever tasks or duties we are subjected to perform. For anyone that wants to be fit and healthy the aim is to be able to function properly or better than before. Keeping this in mind we realize that it is only human to want to improve ourselves over time, in this case, our health.

Healthy does not meant he decision between what to eat or what to do but rather to keep our mind and bodies functional enough to overtake our daily routine. If you're still confused about the point i am trying to make try to look at homeless people who have never had an ounce of medicine or moisturizer in their lives but their skin still seems to be healthier than ours. Their bones are stronger and their muscles are more defined and healthier looking than ours. (there is still debate about this topic but we'll leave it there)

Overall staying fit and healthy only has to do with our goals, whether its to achieve a six pack or to just achieve solace to be able to calm our minds. Whatever our goals, we must make sure that our decisions reflect what we want to achieve and that we do not confine ourselves to just yoga and salads but rather improve our entire life choices in order to stay fit and stay healthy.
